I own a Dell B130 and my aux output for speaker is bleak. Dell desires $380. Can I replace motherboard myself?

Dell tell me this little aux jack (probably only cost a quarter) is cut of the motherboard and I have to replace the integral thing. Any passageway to do it myself and bypass this rip off? Thanks for your assistance. Tom

Yes you can replace the motherboard yourself, if you know what you are doing. OR, you COULD just buy a part sound card for in the region of 20 - 30 dollars, plug it in, nouns the driver, and go stern to doing whatever you be doing.
Really, you could replace the motherboard your self. Dell has really moral Service Manuals for all of here systems at support.dell.com The motherboard will still be pretty pricey though.. If you were basically wanting the port for headphones, I suggest of late getting a pair of USB phone for the system. They would connect to the systems USB port for sound instead of the AUX output.
