I enjoy a Toshiba Satellite M45-s2652 and it shabby every complicated drive i installed on it. How do I fix it?

I hold a Toshiba M45-s2652. The laptop needed a new knotty drive and I installed it but once I restarted after installing xp, the computer claimed the hard drive be damaged. I replaced it and used another hdd, and like thing happen. this went on 2 more times. I realize it's a hardware problem, but everything else on the motherboard works fine. Will I inevitability to replace a part? Which one?
