I own a Dell 6400 Inspir w/Intel C2 Duo w/667mhz FSB. Is upgrading from 533 to 667mhz RAM worth it?
Answer:
While 533MHz isn't doomed to failure, I would probably just do it so I'm getting the full importance out of the rest of my hardware.
The bus runs as fast as the slowest player on the bus. If the RAM is faster than the bus, the bus precincts the speed of the whole system. In your shield, your RAM is running at 533, therefore your undamaged bus runs at 533.
If you consider the co$t of 667mhz ram worth a 2% speed increase, consequently sure. The bang-for-your-buck factor is low...
Not a whole lot, not even traceable just depends on the competence of the stick though.
how do you make your computer faster
