It can't be that feeble, it has window 98 on it. I have wireless internet within my home already and would love for my daughter to be able to use this next to the wireless. Thanks for any help out at hand.

If you are not using your PCMCIA slot for anything else, it probably will be a cleaner hardware install.

Yes you can give a card or USB, to connect to a WIFI hot spot such as airports, hotels, coffee shops etc. When connecting to none secure hot spots such as these do not dispatch any personal info such as credit card, banking etc. Make sure wellbeing is kept updated and fire walled etc.
You will be using 802.11 a/b/g/n wire smaller amount network next to this type of connection. I basically added WIFI to an older Toshiba using a USB port and it works great. If you want a out of harm`s way connection consequently you will have to subscribe to a provider such as a cell phone company close to Cingular and others, you can check these out by looking on Internet or phone directory.
