Whenever I try to click on my volume control it is close to grey and won't let me amendment it at all and it does impossible to tell apart when i try to go through the control panel and I can't amount out what the hell is going on please help!!!!!!

Click on START, Click on RUN, surrounded by the command line type dxdiag. On the tabbed top choose MUSIC and after do the tests and if needed follow the troubleshooting.
