I can not install iis on window xp pro on ibm thinkpad?

i can not install iis on window xp pro on ibm thinkpad Z61m. it hangs up during installation. some time installation can complete but iis official can not appear in administrative tools. so i can not develop net application with vb.lattice. any idea to solve this please.
