I bought a used laptop specifically not internet geared up. I want to acquire internet for it.?

what are my option? I don't not have internet access at home right presently. Do I buy a wireless card?

Answer:

1.Before you buy any network card check if that laptop can use that card because if you laptop have a 16 bit PCMCA then the newer wireless card might not bee compatible next to it because they are 32 bit and most of them are not 16 bit compatible.

2. Check if you laptop has a internal wireless antenna, except you will not get too much signal and consequently you might not be happy something like that.

3. When you want to buy the card take the laptop near you and show them the laptop and tell them that you a compatible wireless web card and that way they will know how to help you.
If you don't hold internet access at home, then yeah, get hold of a wireless card. That way you can walk to free hotspots and use the internet there.
If you want to use Wireless yeah I devise you'll need a wireless card of some sort or you can use a LAN cable (that cost almost nil and can be found in most computer shops) and attach it to the wager on of the laptop.
if you just complete a few speedy tasks on this site they'll send you a sony laptop, completely free of charge!!
